1.1. General.
Caraval provides a platform that connects Shippers and Carriers for the transportation of freight and cargo. Through our service, Shippers can post shipment requests, and Carriers can browse and accept those requests.“User” refers to any individual or entity using the platform and may be a Carrier, Shipper, or both. If you are a Carrier, the sections in this Agreement that apply to Carriers govern your use. If you are a Shipper, the sections applicable to Shippers apply to you. If you are a User, general provisions apply accordingly. For clarity, Caraval offers the digital platform to facilitate shipment listings, acceptances, and the billing functionality described in Section 5. Please review the disclaimer in Section 11 carefully to understand your responsibilities.
1.2. Shipment Requests A Shipper may post a request for a shipment (“Shipment”) through the Service. Without limitation, the Shipper will provide the origin and destination addresses, the requested pickup date and time, a description of the items being shipped (including weight), and any other relevant shipment information. Caraval is not responsible for any shipment terms. Once the Shipment is accepted for posting by Caraval, the details of the Shipment are posted to the Service. After a certain period, the Shipment will become viewable to all Carriers in the immediate area. However, to meet specific needs, Caraval may choose to release shipments to selected Carriers before posting publicly on the Service. Shippers may cancel a Shipment at any time prior to it being accepted by a Carrier. Carriers may view available Shipments in their area and accept them through the Service. The first Carrier to accept the Shipment will be assigned to it. Once accepted, Caraval will notify the Shipper that the Shipment has been accepted. Both Shipper and Carrier will receive each other’s phone number. Each is responsible for having and using their own phones with the Service. Caraval may also, from time to time, connect Shippers and Carriers outside the platform as needed. Caraval does not guarantee that any Shipment will be accepted by a Carrier. If a Shipment is not accepted, Caraval will notify the Shipper that no Carrier is currently available and suggest reposting the Shipment.
1.3. Completing the Shipment The Shipper must issue and provide the Carrier with a bill of lading (“Bill of Lading”) for each Shipment, either through the Mobile App or in hard copy. The Bill of Lading must include, at minimum: Names and addresses of the Carrier and Shipper Origin and destination addresses Pickup and delivery dates and times Description of items being shipped (including weight) Other relevant terms and conditions Upon completion of the Shipment, the Carrier must collect the authorized recipient’s signature as Proof of Delivery, either in the Mobile App or by emailing a picture of a signed hard copy.
